Decade 2018-2022.
Sound Sculpture, 2022.

Decade 2018-2022 is a sound installation that highlights the physics of sound in two different ways: by capturing the sound of impacts on a black ice sheet on the island of Svalbard-and-Jan-Mayen, and by broadcasting the soundtrack on a copper and foam board. This work, through the richness of the recording, and also through the appropriate choice of material to transmit the sound, creates a kind of orchestration of the landscape. The reflective surface of the copper adds to the sound experience through the vibrant reflection of light on the floor. The work thus reveals the temporality of light in architectural space.
DECADE 2018-2022, by broadcasting a sound work that emphasizes the crashing of glaciers on a reflective metal plate like a sun, creates a symbolic opposition between the fantasized Nordic landscape of beauty and the accelerated disappearance of its singularity.
