DÉMARCHE
Amélie Laurence Fortin (elle) vit et travaille entre Québec (Canada) et Varsovie (Pologne). À travers ses installations, sculptures et œuvres sonores, elle crée des récits futuristes, dans lesquels les objets sont les témoins des actions passées ou futures. Ses derniers projets sont l’occasion d’interroger les bouleversements technologiques actuels par le biais d’une approche formelle radicale, monumentale et performative. Où les récits fictionnels féministes opaques et l'ambiguïté entre la technique et le magique crée l’émergence de l’aléatoire.
Une sélection de ses récentes expositions comprend ; OBORO (Canada) ; Tallinn Art Hall (Estonie); Fonderie Darling (Canada) ; BWA Wroclaw (Pologne) ; Festival Mois Multi (Canada) ; Stroboskop (Pologne) ; KIKK Festival (Belgique), Künstlerhaus Bethanien (Allemagne); Alfa Gallery (USA) ; Biennale Manif d’Art 9 (Canada) ; ainsi que plusieurs foires locales et internationales. Fortin a été retenue à résidence d’un an à la Künstlerhaus Bethanien (2020), la résidence Arctic Circle (2017) et la résidence de co-production Canado-Belge entre Werktank et Productions Recto-Verso (2020-2021) et a été invitée à une résidence de longue durée avec Avatar (2023-2025). Elle a été retenue pour le Prix Videre (2020) ; et lauréate du prix Louis Garneau et ADFU (2010). Son travail a entre autres fait l’objet de critiques dans Szum Magazine, BLOK Magazine, BerlinArtLink, BE Magazine, EFSYN Magazine, Esse Art+Opinion, Espace Magazine. Fortin a obtenu une maîtrise en arts visuels axée sur la traduction de l’expérience extrême en installation d’art (Université Laval - 2009 - 2011). Son exposition intitulée “Triomphe” a été créée et produite aux côtés de la commissaire Sylvie Fortin pour la Manif d’Art 5 (2020).

ARTISTIC STATEMENT
Amélie Laurence Fortin lives and works between Quebec (Canada) and Warsaw (Poland). Her latest projects are an opportunity to question current technological upheavals through a radical, monumental and performative formal approach. Where opaque feminist fictional narratives and the ambiguity between the technical and the magical create the emergence of the random.
